The New American Patient
Paul Bergner 1996
75 minutes 1.25 CEU credit
The patient in the 21st century presents a dramatically different clinical picture than those from 100 years previously, when most of our medical level herbal traditions were developed. We can't apply by rote the methods of the Eclectics, or Physiomedicalists, or Homeopaths, or Naturopaths, or practitioners of Ayurveda or Chinese medicine that were developed eras of different social, dietary, and general health conditions in the past. Our methods have to be modified to account for new conditions of diet, activity, lifestyle and urbanization. This lecture material was presented in various formats over a six year period in the 1990s, and this lecture was delivered in 1996.
